Hula Halau

I lived in Hawai'i for eight years. While there I achieved Signature Membership of  the Hawai'i Watercolour Society and am privileged to be one of very few members to have earned to right to use the initials HWS after my name.
I was the house artist for a leading Halau,  (School of traditional dance), an honour for an 'Haole', (foreigner).
The 'Merrie Monarch' link takes you to the Halau I worked with, Halau Hokulani deRego. Some of Hokulani's dancers should be recognisable in the paintings.
The painting below is available as a matted print from Island Heritage, tikimaster.com & mkaloha.com/prints
Four of these paintings have been retained by CBS for use in series 1 and 2 of Hawai'i 5'O'
Reproductions of two of these paintings have been selected to hang in all the newly refurbished rooms of the Sheraton Kauai, Garden Wing and Ocean View.
